The second annual Tramlines is right around corner, which means Sheffields drinking establishments and live venues will once again waive their door and music policies and offer up live music and entertaiment for Sheffield’s inhabitants. While Echo and the Bunnymen, Craig David and other music alumni take to the main stage, the rest of the city offers some absolute gems for you to dig through. Over 50 venues throughout the city will take be taking part, so get hunting people.

Ian ‘Sonic the Hedgehodgson’ will be playing a special audio showcase of what’s on offer this year at Tramlines on his BBC Raw Talent show this evening. Click here to listen live

After three years, headlining two Opus stages and a debut slot, the Renegades and Tentaclay come together for one off special performance that’s going to be nothing short of amazing.

I was on BBC Raw Talent last night, being interviewed by ‘man like Iain Hodgson about the Renegade Brass Band and my post-gig thoughts at Bearded Theory Festival last Sunday. Being interviewed after a gig is a lot like somebody pointing a microphone at you after you’ve just finished coitus and asking you – What are your thoughts on tonight’s sexual performance?

Cheers to everyone who came to see the Tentacles at the Kings Arms last night. What an amazing venue and line up. Special thanks to Mind on Fire and Wotgodforgot for putting us on and the whole of Chapel Street and Sounds from the other City for a great day and night.

If your still craving some music this bank holiday, get yourself down to the Sheffield Union this afternoon. The Renegade Brass Band are playing from 4.00PM. Not to mention DJ’s all day and special appearences by Lord of Flatbush, Bromheads and Tim Westwood (but don’t let the last one put you off)

Happy new year to one and all, I’ve been a little busy with other matters i.e. chasing up studio equipment, trying to sort out events and general bullshit so I apoligise for the lack of updates. There’s some new live events to announce right up until August, trying to keep busy. Dates and venues are subject to change, I’ll be updating this list with more information on door charges and support acts as time goes on.

First up are the dates for the Renegade Brass Band and myself. Keep your eyes peeled for us at Les Sons du Nord in May, it’s going to be my first festival performance outside of England and my first international gig. Get in.

I’m making a return to the BBC Sheffield studios next week to offer vocal support to The Renegade Brass Band on their interview for BBC Raw Talent. They’ll also be performing a few songs for your listening pleasure. BBC Raw Talent Sheffield has had an amazing line up of guests including The Legend of the 7 Black Tentacles and recently the ReMixed in Sheffield collective. Be sure to look out for the remix of Dogface by Barker and Jack Opus.

On Friday, I’ll be Manchester. From the Kites of San Quentin are hosting ‘This City is Ours’ and are bringing the Tentacles and myself over the pennines to rock a special one off performance in Salford at the Sacred Trinity Church. Tickets are £5 in advance and it’s being powered by Gash soundsytem. I’ve been told that the building is fantastic and is an amazing place to hold a live performance, because of the gigs surroundings tickets are limited and punters have been asked to respect the building, so no funny business. Saturday we’ll be playing down in Bristol at The Junction.

~~I’m also having some technical difficulties with some plug-in’s on the site so at the moment the Tweet Feed and the MP3 Player seem to be down, I’ll have those back up and running A.S.A.P~~
