It was great to get out and meet some people, play to a different crowd and start again outside our comfort zone.

The Tentacles and I, are also playing alongside From the Kites of San Quentin in Manchester on December 4th and then Bristol on the 5th (more details to follow) – We’re also supporting Johannesburg’s 4 piece BlkJks in Sheffield on November 4th, just two days after they share the stage with Warp Records artists Flying Lotus and Battles in Manchester.

On Friday the 13th of November I’m moonlighting with good friends The Renegade Brass Band to offer support to The Nextmen & Ms. Dynamite at The Tuesday Club in Sheffield. It’s been a while since I’ve played TTC.

It’s been a long time since my friend Paul was laughed out of Warp Records (the record store) for asking if they had a copy of Alice Coopers latest album, and it’s been almost 20 years since my old music teacher was pushing the boundaries of Fraggle Rock (greatest music genre ever) on Warp way back when. To celebrate Warp Records and featured artists have been hosting special live performances in Tokyo, Paris, New York and London.  Warp are also releasing a collectors box-set of the 10 best songs from their back catalogue chosen by fans and a collection of new music and personal favorites by Warp co-founder Steve Beckett. The packaging also looks freaking sweet.

“Warp20 Night is headlined by Squarepusher.  Forgemasters are also performing! Also reforming exclusively for the occasion are Nightmares on Wax, Andrew Weatherall,  Clark (live), Hudson Mohawke (live) and Harmonic 313.”  – Warp.net

If that wasn’t enough, film screenings at Park Hill Flats will proceed the event and the night before, we’re hitting a secret stage alongside Warp associates at the Warp 20 Warehouse Party.  Tickets on Sale from Monday 7th September.

£10 advance/ £8 with a Warp20 Qpark ticket.
